BACK TO SCHOOL: Pandemic technology changes helping Wichita Public Schools for the future – KAKE

Wichita Public Schools Chief Information Officer Rob Dickson says, “You know, we learned a lot from last year, having deployed one-to-one devices to every student supplying over 14,000 families with internet.”

The one to one devices were a necessity because of the pandemic and virtual learning. However, they’re still going to play a huge role in each student’s education this year.

“When they want to do research, or if they need to learn a new skill, that maybe learn how to do a math problem, or something along those lines, they can tap into the resources on the web,” said Dayne Smokorowski, the district’s digital literacy coordinator.
